Adventure Time! : The Georgia Renaissance Festival

So, a few weekends ago, I went to the Georgia Renaissance Festival with my besties Casey and Lauren. This festival is held every year from mid April to early June on Saturdays and Sundays in Fairburn, Ga. In typical late to the party fashion, We went on the last Saturday. Our decision to go was based on a random Groupon binge and I had never been. I also knew Casey would be here for it. So.. before I get into what we did, let's get some fun facts going:

  • You can arrive in full garb. Literally full kilt or medieval dress.

  • All of the actors are local. Some are even high school students.

  • There’s a parrot sanctuary with rescues. Your "entry fee" is actually a donation to the rescue.

  • It was sponsored by Bud Light this year. Let's put two and two together: Bud Light sponsering a renaissance festival means... The Bud Knight... and yes, he was there.

  • Bring lots of sun screen. It was 90+ degrees and there was lots of sun.

With that said, let's talk about the fun! While we were there, we walked around, watched a jousting fight, ate some festival food, played with some animals, did some shopping, met Conan the Barbarian, got put in the pit of misery.

If you are wondering what my favorite part was? The food of course! Although I didnt have the famous Turkey Leg (not big into large amounts of meet), I did have ribbon fries, a snow cone, and praline pecans.

Overall Experience: 8/10
