My Self Care Haven and The New Products In It
So, with 2020 coming to an end, I decided to stop viewing my apartment as a prison and to truly treat it as a haven. With doing so, I decided to align my spaces with my wellness goals for the new year. My biggest goal was to revamp my self care routine. With that in mind, it was time to redecorate our guest bathroom and create a self care haven that I would be happy in. So here’s what I did!
Before
First, I needed to gather some inspiration. Specifically for storing large amounts of self care products.
Next, I wanted to set a mood for the space. I did this by creating a mood board in Canva using images of products I sourced online from Target, World Market, Walmart, and Instagram Thrift shops. I had about $150 budgeted for this project.
Next, I bought everything. I did shopped online and picked up curbside because Covid. The only place I dared walk into was Ross, as soon as it opened, going straight to the necessary aisle, and straight to the checkout. Please don’t loiter in public.
Finally, It was time to install all of the new goodies. My sister joined me for the fun and helped me build the above the toilet storage. You can see the highlights below:
And Viola! My new bathroom is ready! Here is what it looks like:

Now what’s new in the bathroom you may ask?
So, of course my for my hair I am still using Curls products! I actually traded out my Curls gel to Miss Jessies Pillow Soft Curls Gel.
For my face, I added a few face mask from Origins.
I also added a few new body care items: The Native brand Cucumber + Mint Deodorant and Body Wash as well all the Coconut + Vanilla Body Wash as well as Daily Concepts Daily Body Scrubber.
And that is how I am setting myself up for Self Care success in the New Year in my New Space!
